GCBA to Host Pitch, Hit, and Run plus Home Run Derby April 2nd

We are excited to announce that we will once again be hosting the MLB Pitch, Hit and Run competition, as well as the MLB Home Run Derby!  Sunday, April 2nd at Condon Park in Grass Valley.

As you know from our "Bears in the News" wall, this is the event that sent 7 Bears to compete in the Sectional competition for the Pitch, Hit and Run in Citrus Heights. (Devon Taylor, Ryne Allen, Logan Mackey, Chase Nye, Johnheaven Patton, Tyler Neuharth, Aidan Keros and Devin Sunde).  Aidan and Chase won their respective age divisions at Sectionals, advancing to the Regional competition held in Oakland Collesium!  Dylan Neuharth and Noah Sims (along with 2 non-Bears) won the local Home Run Derby competitions to advance to Nationals in Los Angeles!

Date:  Sunday, April 2nd

Where:  Condon Park, Grass Valley

Time:  10:00am - 12:00pm for the Pitch, Hit and Run

Time:  12:00pm - 1:00pm for the Home Run Derby

Cost:  There is no cost to participate in either event

Concessions:  Our volunteers will be busy setting up and scoring the various events, so concessions will not be provided.  You are welcome to bring what you like.

The pitch, hit and run competition will take the player less than 10 minutes to complete, and you can show up anytime between 10:00am - 12:00pm.  If your son would like to participate in both events, we recommend coming later in the PHR time range so he is not standing around for a couple hours before the HRD.

There are 4 age divisions for the PHR.  7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14

There are 2 age divisions for the HRD.  12U and 14U

The age for each event is based on your child's age on July 17, 2017.
