After going 2-0 in pool play, the 13U were awarded the #2 seed. After being up 10-1 in the semifinal game, the boys squandered the lead as their formidable opponent would roar back to tie the game up going into the last inning. The Bears were able to salvage the win though by loading the bases and drawing a walk off base on balls to punch their ticket into the championship game. The excitement did not last long however as in the championship game they found themselves quickly down 11-3. With their backs against the wall they began to claw and fight. With an exciting 8 run inning later that saw the Bears bats come alive, they were now tied. After a couple of defensive miscues in the top half, they found themselves down 2 runs heading into the last inning. But the boys picked up where they left off and after loading the bases on walks, they scored one run on a base-hit, and then completed the comeback walk off victory with a 2 run double in the gap. This was a big win for these small town boys and we are excited to see what else they have in store!
